For close to 20 years I have lived my life as a citizen of the world, moving between homes in three countries (US, UK and France) several times a year. I work with people on every continent in many walks of life. My biggest takeaway: human beings long to have an impact on their world, and each has a role to play. This podcast is dedicated to people all around the world who listen, act and never give up. Thanks for tuning in.

Meet Fiona Mathews
Fiona set up the Earth Champions Foundation 16 years ago as a result of a very sad conversation with her son. A young woman, someone very close to their family, had committed suicide; she had said that she could see no one to look up to in the World. So Fiona created the Foundation to inspire communities to protect the environment and improve wellbeing by seeking, celebrating and collaborating with those dedicated to restoring and sustaining the Earth.
The Foundation was officially launched in 2000 and was honored to have Nelson Mandela give the first award, following a National Australian Quest. Since then, Fiona has conducted Earth Champions Quests in Australia (Byron Shire), Switzerland, Hong Kong and the UK (Bristol). The Quests have uncovered hundreds of grass roots examples of excellence in environmental and well-being best practice. Sir Crispin Tickell is Chairman of the International Advisory Board.
