For close to 20 years I have lived my life as a citizen of the world, moving between homes in three countries (US, UK and France) several times a year. I work with people on every continent in many walks of life. My biggest takeaway: human beings long to have an impact on their world, and each has a role to play. This podcast is dedicated to people all around the world who listen, act and never give up. Thanks for tuning in.

Meet Wiebke VonSchnurbein
Wiebke VonSchnurbein was born in Germany on Christmas Eve 1937. Her father died in 1940 in German military service, and her mother moved her and her sister to Flensburg on the Danish border, where they grew up “in a country without fathers”. She worked for 45 years as a medical technologist in Germany, France and the USA. In 1985 she married Immo VonSchnurbein, a captain of German sailing ships; and it was through Immo that I met her in 2005. I was first drawn to Wiebke through our shared experience as captains’ wives; and both she and Immo continue to inspire me with their strength, courage and ageless determination to live life fully. Now 80, Wiebke loves working with her hands, reading good literature and adventurous travel. Just last year she finally sold her Vespa and traveled to New York City on her own. She and Immo live between their home in Bavaria, where she created and tends a magnificent garden, and their apartment in the South of France, which gives me the opportunity to see them both every year.
